At CPEC, the delivery of the education services for Early Intervention (12 months to 6 years of age) costs on average $19,000 per child per year to receive on average 8 hours of service per week for 44 weeks. CPEC receives the State average amount of $7,000 per child for the year. The $12,000 plus shortfall is met by family fees. However the CPEC Board of Management has limited the family fees to $3,000 per year. The shortfall of $5,000 per child (50 children x $9,000) or $450,000 to CPEC for the year is intended to be offset each year with the families, staff and community supporters being involved in organizing fundraising events and seeking donations from the broader community. This is an ever present challenge that never stops.
