Learning for life!

Smiling boySupport Us

It currently costs around $19,000 per child per year to receive the much needed “Learning for Life” education programs from CPEC. CPEC currently receives approximately $7000 funding from the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development.   However parent fees, donations and fundraising is needed to meet the $12,000 shortfall. This huge financial burden challenges CPEC families every year.  The education programs alone for children under six years of age have an annual funding shortfall of nearly $700,000.

Additionally, many children require specialized equipment (e.g. walking frames, splints, Second Skins, wheel chairs) to meet daily challenges such as walking, eating and communicating.  Therapists and families spend a great deal of time sourcing funding for the considerable shortfall between State Government contributions and the actual cost of equipment. Where funding can’t be found, families have to cover costs on their own.

How You Can Support Children Requiring CPEC Education Services

1. Make a Personal Donation

You can make an annual or regular monthly donation directly to CPEC via our secure webpage here.

Important: The Cerebral Palsy Education Centre do NOT solicite donations via the telephone. If you have received a fundraising call from anyone claiming they are from CPEC, for your protection do not supply your banking details to them.

2. Donate Towards a Child's Walker

As part of a project run by the combined Rotary Clubs of Monash, you can donate $200 or more towards a child’s walker and help the wonderful children at CPEC get the most out of life. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and you will be issued with a receipt for tax purposes.

3. Wine Buying

CPEC has established a great partnership with Buller Wines. High quality and cost effective purchase options are available by the dozen or lesser amounts for their superb reds, whites and magnificent fortified wines. If you are having corporate functions or celebrations, Christmas parties and family events or just want wine for your own personal pleasure, why not buy Buller Wines online. For more information or to make a purchase, visit Buller Wine's online store

4. Include CPEC As Your Charity At Work

Organise a Special Event/Work Fundraiser: Examples: Trivial Pursuit Evening, Golf Day, Barbeque, Gala Dinner, Bike Ride, Fun Run, Dress Up or Casual Day, Wine Tasting Evening or a dinner with a guest speaker from CPEC.

Adopt CPEC for Work Place Giving: Employees can have regular contributions deducted from their salary and dedicated to go to the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre. It is easy to organise and can be administered on a fortnightly, monthly or annual basis. It is seamless and tax beneficial.

Promote CPEC and/or One of Our Children: This can be done by placing a CPEC logo and link on your site as well as a description of your company’s support for us.

5. Participate in the Annual Melbourne Marathon Festival

Volunteer: Join CPEC families and friends to help manage the 25,000 participants in this event that runs each year in and around the MCG. On the day we need a minimum of 200 trusty helpers to ensure that we maintain our status as an official charity of the Melbourne Marathon.

Walk or Run: Register yourself, your family, friends or work colleagues (as a team or individually) to complete any of the Melbourne Marathon events (3km walk or 42km, 21km, 10km or 5km runs) alongside CPEC families and supporters to help raise funds for our children’s education programs. If you need, we can assist you in setting up your personalised fundraising promotion page.

When you join the CPEC fundraising team to walk or run for us you can receive a free CPEC t-shirt or singlet. You will also be in the running to win great prizes and receive gift vouchers.

CPEC does not receive any Melbourne Marathon Festival registration fees. All our money from this event comes from the runners and walkers who fundraise for us.

6. Join or Make a CPEC Cycle Team for the Murray To Moyne Relay Bike Ride

We are looking to establish teams of eight riders who will cycle 520 kilometres in this weekend relay charity event from Echuca to Port Fairy. Support crews, vehicles and trailers are also needed, and there is a stopover in Hamilton on the Saturday night.

7. Ride in the Chain Reaction 1,000km Charity Event

If you are passionate about cycling, register your interest with CPEC to become part of a 40 rider team. Be professionally coached and train over a five month period. The charity ride is done over seven days, and past routes have been around Tasmania, and from Sydney to Melbourne. This event is for the courageous who want to challenge themself and be a part of a powerful team experience.

8. Support the CPEC Annual Dinner Dance & Auction

In June each year the CPEC families and staff organise and run one of our major fundraising events at the Box Hill Town Hall. We welcome supporters to book tables of 8 to 10 guests or make product and services donations that can be sold either in the main or silent auctions.

9. Volunteer

Donating your time at an event linked to CPEC goes a long way and the rewards are enormous.  A friend or family member may like to help too – No offer will be dismissed.
