About the event

What is the Melbourne Marathon Festival?

The Melbourne Marathon Festival is an annual event, and is CPEC’s major fundraiser for the year. CPEC has been part of the Melbourne Marathon for 16 years now, providing the majority of the volunteers that help runners/walkers in and around the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

How can you be a part of the Melbourne Marathon Festival?

Imagine being able to spend your Sunday in the sunshine, surrounded by family & friends and raising much needed funds for charity by either running/walking or volunteering?

If you would like to make a positive difference to the children, young people and families at CPEC, you can become involved in a number of ways:

1. Volunteer for CPEC!

Volunteers form a major part of any marathon – without volunteers, the Melbourne Marathon simply would not run as smoothly!

As the premier charity of the Melbourne Marathon Festival we receive funding by providing volunteers for the event. This year we will be looking for over 320 fabulous people. We have jobs suited to everyone, including those who need to be seated. None of the volunteering jobs require lifting or any degree of fitness.

Would you like to volunteer and raise money for the children and families at CPEC?

2. Participate in one of the events!

There are many distances you can choose to participate in – the marathon (42km), the wheelchair marathon, the half marathon, the 10km run, 5km run or 3km walk. Remember to select “CPEC” as your fundraising charity.

3. Fundraise for CPEC

Whilst we are the official charity, we receive no part of any runner’s or walker’s registration fee, which is why the fundraising efforts are so important for us.

Most importantly, if you are participating, please don’t forget to set up your fundraising page via Grassrootz.

What will the funds raised be used for?

CPEC is a non-profit organisation that relies on fundraising and volunteer support. Volunteers make up most of the workers at our fundraising events and have an essential role in supporting CPEC's services. Fundraisers help keep our operations running.

The money fundraised/donated goes towards purchasing specialised equipment for therapies, loan & trial, as well as continuing to support the therapy programs offered at CPEC which include occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy, aquatic therapy, family support, PODD communication, Mollii Exopulse Suits and more. Funds raised support to the children, adults and families we work with every day to teach them skills that will last them a lifetime.

What can CPEC offer in return?

Complete the form below to register your interest.

  1. Every volunteer will receive a t-shirt to wear on the race day

  2. Every runner/walker registered for CPEC to participate in an event on race day will receive a CPEC singlet to wear during their event

  4. Supportive Events Manager to assist with any volunteering questions leading up to the event.

At CPEC, we love being part of this world-known iconic event, as it helps raise much needed funds for the centre and gives the children, young adults and families a great sense of community and achievement by being involved.  The Melbourne Marathon is truly inspirational for everyone – so, don’t wait and get involved today!
